The Sailor

On the heavenly waters, sailed a ship through scintillating waves
Its captain devoid of worries of the world sailed into the magical waters
He knew nothing of land, but the black water he called his own
The Sailor wanted to touch the mystical land and smell its fragrance.

He remembers his loving wife, who offered him a golden liquid like honey
He remembers its bitter taste and her soft touch that resurrects his soul
He remembers the feeling of being lost in her arms, fearless and alone
He sails with love in his heart and her image in his mind to mystical lands.

He just closed the eyes and welcomed the silence engulfing around him
He closed his eyes to feel the emptiness and purity surrounding him.
He wanted to touch the tip of the ocean and fall into its comfortable abyss
He sailed on a dark starless night and spoke like a god’s soft whisper.

As the course of the ship continues, he watches a late summer’s dawn
The sun comes out of the dark clouds in its own slow speed and smoothness
Shifting up from horizon, it kisses the mountainside of an island with fire
The sailor watches in beauty and stirs his thoughts to its happiness

He completes his mundane activities of ship and steers it into deep waters
Each drop of water like a deceiver of his thoughts lingering in emptiness
Kisses his ears with dark whispers approaching yet another open silence
He drinks his wine to  melt away in thoughts  like the waters of his ocean

The long journey has now kept him waiting in the thoughts of his love
She awaits him with a promise of a long hug and an even bigger kiss
She wants the ocean to announce his early arrival into the lands of his own
She watches the dark clouds over the ocean with thunder blazing in anger

The sailor touched the thunder and tasted the water with his lips in awe
Lost in the night he listened to the magical heartbeat of an angry ocean wave
He felt the benevolent wind caress and kiss his cheek with calmness and love
There was a beautiful angel of the sea who guided his ship out from the storm

The sailor now steers his ship to the place he knows he is welcomed
The ship comes back victoriously from a fearful trip with hearts won
For the sailor will go back once again to the lonely sea and the open sky
And all he would wish again is a tall ship and a compass to sail away.

*For some time now there was an image of a sailor constantly teasing my mind and this post is just an attempt to wrap up the imaginative image with words to fit in. For today and everyday I wish the imagination never dies. It will just live on now. Forever…*

In Remembrance…

It was a gruesome tragedy an year ago
which brought grief and sadness in the house
The tragedy like a lightning struck in its gruesome form
which damaged the roots of everyone connected.

There was a huge thunder louder than I ever heard
A little uneasiness in my heart for i cried like never before
A separation, A loss which like the fall of a weathered leaf
A million smiled dead, A trillion sorrow has woken.

The skies were suddenly grey which was blue yesterday
I wonder looking up imagining a witty quote on this change
You were unaware of what I wanted you to say
You were unaware how many hearts died that day

Now in the lonesome corner of my heart is a hole
Drenched in grief of sadness, withered like a weak tree
Unable to trace the beauty of yesterday, in the confusions
where the days were happier and filled with laughters and smile

My face now fades hiding in the loneliness of our house
The voices inside me cries while my face stays still
When I meet the sorrow I wonder the source it came from
If it weighs like mine or has an easier size.

Yes in remembrance to the smiles of those hundreds
In remembrance of the good deeds of past that defined you
In remembrance of lives you touched in your journey which ended
I compose these lines for you in a dim oil of a dark forgotten night.

That Silent Song

The nights were dark, yet a ray of hope lit my lamp of imagination
The days were short, yet the suffering was longer in my narration
The evenings were cold, yet I craved for warmth of love after negation
My life was a wreck, my work devoid of any recognition from my friends.

I influenced from the poets of the fall who wrote sonnets on love & purity
I understood from the painters of the past who painted with intensity
I meditated on the preaching’s of the saints who practiced virtue & sanctity
My inspiration has risen, from great men whose words define their sanity.

Under the dark depths of my soul was laid, an inception of a silent song
A song, which required the sense of a loner and an art I learnt to Understand.
Take me away to a lush green forests or an open field to sing a lullaby
Where there be no human but green trees and silent valley to listen to it.

I stand there at the vertex of nature like a preacher passing all my learning’s
I stand there and wait, for the nature to applause with an embrace of cold air
The cold innocent fresh air announcing in high the joy my song brought them
I am thankful O nature, for you understood what my friends could never.

The poet in me thanks the nature for being the biggest reason for elation
The Painter in me thanks the nature for being the canvas of my revelation
The preacher in me thanks the nature for being the true source of inspiration
My soul thanks the nature for bringing a sense of comfort to its restlessness.
