The Beach.

It’s beautiful isn’t it. To just let your salty flesh crawl against mine. To let this saltness wash the shore and carry all the half washed away footprints back into the ocean. I just want you to come crashing to me like an ocean wave and then fall upon the shells lined by the rocks like my heart lined inside my chest. I will sit by the shore and just wait for you. I want these waves to roll over me and engulf me in the magic of it’s tides.

And when you are here, I will read to you the story of my day and watch the blonde wisps of your hair riding along the late evening’s breeze at the edge of the sea. I will point to you towards the lights of the distant navy ships. I can be the sailor I always wanted to be and sail with you to the distant horizon, not to stay there but to sail back again to the shore. And in between the sands and the waves, there will be insects and crabs wrapped around your lovely feet…

The Sailor Chronicles- Shipwreck

There was chaos all around while a bottle of rum burnt
My face touched the cold water of the sea, as the ship went down.

Yesterday, it was a silent calm morning along the coast
I drank whiskey with my girlfriend while I bid farewell
A feeling of liveliness kicked in when I saw my tall ship
And twenty-four hours later, I would be dead at the bottom of the sea.

A sense of premonition occurred when I sailed into unknown territory
A cloud of worry rained a stream of sweat in this cold along my forehead
The wind grew stronger on the starboard side as I removed weights
And for the first time in my life I was afraid of the sea I always loved.

The ship rolled insanely to the dangerous rhythms of the storm
A huge wave crashed over the ship and I was drenched
The ship continued its fight with the angry waves of this ocean
like a wingless plane, it was going down crashing to the ocean bed.

My ship is burnt, destroyed and is now lost in the dark depths
holding onto the broken fragments of the ship I stayed awake
Alone in the middle of nowhere, when another wave engulfed me in
and now I was trapped in the heavenly water I once loved.

I see an image of my girlfriend waiting for the arrival of my ship
And there is a tear in the corner of my eye, remembering her last hug
For I am just a sailor who loved the sea as much as I loved her
And I plunge into an abyss for one last sleep never to wake up.

Sailor Post 2: Let me Sail away

Let me Sail Away…

As I sail through scintillating waves
watching the early summer sunrise
A gentle breeze crosses my face
While a ray of sun peeps out of darkness
I steer my ship to a land not far away
While I enjoy the silence of this gentle pace

I spot an island and harbours my ship
where serenity romances with nature
Cold winds now begin to flow towards west
And a yellow yolk rises behind the hills
A sunshine falls gently on my face only to
Bring me inspiration to  place I know my own.

I miss the tenderness of the touch of my love
Those compassionate nights now spent in loneliness
Those merciful looks for not remembering our anniversary
Those sweet talks that bought rain to my heart
I sit below a tree on a shore while my mind drifts
To those lands where the love of my life resides

I know it will only be few days before I can see her
Embrace her to announce in silence the love for her
The morning ambience is now bright and shining
The Sun is high and the sea is calm to sail away
I don’t want to let my melancholy spoil this journey
Because O Sun, You just started my day in happiness.

For some peculiar reasons An image of a sailor sailing on a lonely ocean answers most of my questions than any scenario I can think of. This Post was a written as a 31 Days, 31 Poetry on OctPoWriMo 2013. Todays topic on writing was “Being Gentle” and my post is about how gentleness of nature inspires the journey of a Sailor travelling to meet his love.

The Sailor

On the heavenly waters, sailed a ship through scintillating waves
Its captain devoid of worries of the world sailed into the magical waters
He knew nothing of land, but the black water he called his own
The Sailor wanted to touch the mystical land and smell its fragrance.

He remembers his loving wife, who offered him a golden liquid like honey
He remembers its bitter taste and her soft touch that resurrects his soul
He remembers the feeling of being lost in her arms, fearless and alone
He sails with love in his heart and her image in his mind to mystical lands.

He just closed the eyes and welcomed the silence engulfing around him
He closed his eyes to feel the emptiness and purity surrounding him.
He wanted to touch the tip of the ocean and fall into its comfortable abyss
He sailed on a dark starless night and spoke like a god’s soft whisper.

As the course of the ship continues, he watches a late summer’s dawn
The sun comes out of the dark clouds in its own slow speed and smoothness
Shifting up from horizon, it kisses the mountainside of an island with fire
The sailor watches in beauty and stirs his thoughts to its happiness

He completes his mundane activities of ship and steers it into deep waters
Each drop of water like a deceiver of his thoughts lingering in emptiness
Kisses his ears with dark whispers approaching yet another open silence
He drinks his wine to  melt away in thoughts  like the waters of his ocean

The long journey has now kept him waiting in the thoughts of his love
She awaits him with a promise of a long hug and an even bigger kiss
She wants the ocean to announce his early arrival into the lands of his own
She watches the dark clouds over the ocean with thunder blazing in anger

The sailor touched the thunder and tasted the water with his lips in awe
Lost in the night he listened to the magical heartbeat of an angry ocean wave
He felt the benevolent wind caress and kiss his cheek with calmness and love
There was a beautiful angel of the sea who guided his ship out from the storm

The sailor now steers his ship to the place he knows he is welcomed
The ship comes back victoriously from a fearful trip with hearts won
For the sailor will go back once again to the lonely sea and the open sky
And all he would wish again is a tall ship and a compass to sail away.

*For some time now there was an image of a sailor constantly teasing my mind and this post is just an attempt to wrap up the imaginative image with words to fit in. For today and everyday I wish the imagination never dies. It will just live on now. Forever…*
